Accessibility Statement

The accessibility regulations came into force for public sector bodies on 23 September 2018. High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd. is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

The BIM Upskilling e-learning platform is run by HS2 Ltd. We want this e-learning platform to be accessible to the widest range of people.

This means, by example, you will be able to:

  • change text size on this e-learning platform to make it larger or smaller using your web browser Google Chrome;
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard;
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software;
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver); and
  • skip to the main content when using a screen reader or just a keyboard.

A number of documents are available for viewing on our website. Wherever possible, these documents are made available in accessible Portable Document Format (PDF) and may be viewed using Adobe Reader.

We’ve also made this website text as simple as possible to understand.

This e-learning platform is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Its compliance has been tested and accredited by DAC until 1st September 2022.

We know that some specific parts of this website may not always be fully accessible with certain software, these few exceptions are listed below:

  • Use of Dragon (Accessibility Software) is not fully supported by the platform or content.
  • When viewing the course catalogue page on Internet Explorer some icons are not selectable via keyboard. This works as expected on Chrome and other recommended browsers.
  • On knowledge check pages there is a known issue for NVDA users (Accessibility Software) due to a software bug.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

We will regularly review and monitor our e-learning platform and its content to ensure it meets the latest accessibility standards. We will test our website annually to check for areas of improvement or non-compliance.
