BIM Upskilling

The BIM Upskilling platform and e-learning content will work on various hardware platforms, but the following is an example of a minimum specification that would be expected to deliver a rich, interactive user experience.

• JavaScript enabled. 
• Recommended minimum browser:
• Latest Google Chrome.
• Latest Firefox.
• Safari 10.
• Internet Explorer 11 (you may experience some graphical and rendering issues)
• Recent Microsoft Edge.
• The platform is best viewed at 100% Zoom on all browsers. 
• If using a 4k screen at full resolution adjust the scale to 150% for optimal viewing. 

As e-learning is delivered online we would recommend the following minimum bandwidths for internet access: 

• Minimum bandwidth: 256 kbps. 
• If using video: 512 kbps.

Accessibility Tips

• Recommended accessibility and screen reader software should be JAWS. Content does not support Dragon at present. 
• If text spacing utilities are used, please be aware that this may cause some formatting issues on course timeline. 

How to disable Pop-Ups in common browsers

Internet Explorer

Take the following steps to disable pop-up blockers:

• Click Tools or the gear icon.
• Click Internet options.
• Click the Privacy tab.
• Uncheck Turn on Pop-up Blocker.

Chrome

Take the following steps to disable pop-up blockers:

• On your computer, open Chrome.
• At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
• Under 'Privacy and security', click Site settings.
• Click Pop-ups and redirects.
• At the top, turn the setting to Allowed or Blocked.

Firefox

Take the following steps to disable pop-up blockers:

• Open your Firefox browser.
• Click the Menu button, then select Options.
• Select Privacy & Security.
• Under Permissions, uncheck Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker.

Safari

Take the following steps to disable pop-up blockers:

• Select Safari > Preferences, then select Websites.
• Select Pop-up Windows.
• Use the When visiting other websites drop-down menu and select Allow to disable the pop-up blocker.

Microsoft EDGE

Take the following steps to disable pop-up blockers:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Click the More button in the top right.
• Click Settings.
• Click Privacy & Security on the left.
• Under Security, click the Block pop-ups toggle to turn it to Off.
